چکیده
This study’s aim is to determine the accuracy and precision of bracket slot height in MBT 0.022″ ceramic brackets. Five brackets from 11 different systems (n = 55) were scanned using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). The was measured at face (external) base (internal) slot. Data analyzed a One-Sample t-Test, Paired t-Test. lowest external seen OrthoCare Purity® 0.02264″ (2.9%), greatest TOC Ghost Advanced® 0.02736″ (24.4%). internal Forestadent Glam® 0.02020″ (−8.2%), 0.2547″ (15.8%). measurements corresponded most closely with expected measurements. TP InVu® found be precise for (range 0.00043″) American Orthodontics 20/40® 0.00028″). In assessing geometry, all demonstrated higher mean compared bracket. Orthodontic slots are larger than parallelism not observed any brand tested. Similarly, dimensions imprecise where two ‘identical’ have sizes. clinician should, therefore, assume that play likely expected.

Micro-CT evaluation of microleakage under orthodontic ceramic brackets bonded with different bonding techniques and adhesives.
AIM The aim of this study was to evaluate microleakage under orthodontic ceramic brackets bonded with direct and different indirect bonding techniques and adhesives using micro-computed tomography. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 30 human maxillary premolars were randomly separated into five groups with six teeth in each group. In group I, teeth were bonded directly with Transbond XT (3M Uni...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the marginal gap (MG) and absolute marginal discrepancy (MD) of full ceramic crowns with two finish line designs, shoulder and chamfer, using microcomputed tomography (micro-CT) before and after cementation. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty extracted human maxillary premolar teeth were divided into two groups based on the finish line design: Group I: 90° shoulder and Group II...

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to quantify the surface area, volume and specific surface area of endodontic files employing quantitative X-ray micro computed tomography (mXCT). MATERIAL AND METHODS Three sets (six files each) of the Flex-Master Ni-Ti system (Nº 20, 25 and 30, taper .04) were utilized in this study. The files were scanned by mXCT. The surface area and volume of all files ...
متن کاملMicro-computed tomography: Introducing new dimensions to taxonomy
Continuous improvements in the resolution of three-dimensional imaging have led to an increased application of these techniques in conventional taxonomic research in recent years. Coupled with an ever increasing research effort in cybertaxonomy, three-dimensional imaging could give a boost to the development of virtual specimen collections, allowing rapid and simultaneous access to accurate vir...
متن کاملMicro-Computed Tomography for the Evaluation of Bone Architecture
Micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) is an emerging technique for the nondestructive assessment and analysis of the three-dimensional trabecular bone structure. Trabecular bone consists of a complicated three-dimensional network of plates and rods, arranged in a lattice-like network [1]. Aging, disease process, and therapeutic agents could influence the number of elements in this network, their...
